Recycling

Focussed on sustainability

We understand the need to relook the way the plastics industry has functioned since its inception and the impact it has had on the environment. That is why we've invested into our recycling capabilities and our new plant will come online towards the middle of 2020. We currently have capacity to produce 150 tonnes of recycled plastic pellets per month.

Our recycling process

  1. We partner with waste collectors throughout the country and all the recyclable plastics are delivered to our facility in Denver, Johannesburg.

  2. Materials are sorted into PP and HD and then loaded onto conveyor belts for crushing.

  3. The loaded waste is crushed and shredded and fed via a friction washer into a wash tank to ensure the removal of all chemicals and foreign matter.

  4. The crushed material is dried after washing and fed into the pelletising machine.

  5. The plastic flakes is melted and all gas particles removed from the plastic and all impurities filtered.

  6. The plastic strings are cut by means of die-face cutting into pellets, dried and ready for final inspection.

  7. Final quality control are performed and material is passed or failed by means of a moisture tester
